The second regular session of the Third Amyotha Hluttaw continued for the 15th day at its convention hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
At the
question-and-answer session, Daw Nwe Nwe Oo from the Ayeyawady Region
Constituency 12 asked about plans to build an A-class gymnasium, staff housing
and fencing the township tennis court in Thaboung Township of Ayeyawady Region.
Deputy Minister for Sports U Nyi Nyi replied that the expenditure will be
demanded from the Union budget in the nearest financial year to build the
sports facilities submitted by the Hluttaw representative in Thabaung Township.
Deputy Minister for
Education Dr Zaw Myint responded to the questions raised by U Tun Aung Win from
the Sagaing Region Constituency 10, saying that five of the seven school
buildings of Htigyaing BEHS No 1 destroyed by terrorists will be repaired with
the maintenance cost in the 2026-27 financial year. The capital expenditure
will be demanded from the Sagaing Region government in the 2027-28 financial
year to construct two school buildings for Letwe Thondra Hall and Menle Hall.
The deputy minister
also answered the questions raised by U Nyan Tun from the Taninthayi Region
Constituency 9, stating that the government allotted K1,830 million for the
construction of two new school buildings, two science laboratories and four
libraries in Kyunsu Township in 2026-27 FY. The ministry will construct the
necessary school buildings for Done Pearl Aw BEHS Branch, Kabinchaung BEHS
Branch and Maingthwe BEHS Branch, depending on the financial allocations.
Hluttaw representatives
discussed the motion tabled by Daw Soe Soe Myint from the Mon State
Constituency, urging the government to implement tax administration and
anti-corruption measures through effective strategies, through collaborative
efforts of public and government departments to contribute to national
development.
Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker
U Aung Lin Dwe announced that further debates of Hluttaw representatives for
the motion, clarification of Union-level dignitaries and seeking the Hluttaw
decisions will be conducted on 13 July.
The 15-day session of
the Amyotha Hluttaw was adjourned, and it will continue on 13 July.
