PDF terrorists are recklessly using explosive devices to detonate mines on major roads and railways used by the public to disrupt regional peace and security, the flow of goods, transportation and harm travellers.
In this regard, on 13 June, along the highway connecting Pakokku and Kanma of Magway Region, PDF terrorist groups dug up the asphalt road and made it into a minefield with oil tank shells, blocking it with mines, forcing travellers to use the forest roads as a bypass route, opening the checkpoints and demanding income.
According to reports from residents, security personnel have carried out area security operations and conducted landmine clearance operations along the highway.
On 13 June, 15 large car mines, eight hand-made landmines, and 10 handmade landmines planted by PDF terrorists were found on the left/right sides of the highway near Nyaunggyitpin village of Kanma Township. On 14 June, eight large car mines, three hand-made concrete mines, two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) made of PVC pipe, totalling 46 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), were found and were systematically removed to prevent harm to residents and travellers.
The security personnel conducts to take necessary security measures to identify, arrest and effectively take legal action against the terrorists who detonated mines on public roads and railways.
