President U Min Aung Hlaing, who is in China on a State Visit at the invitation of Chinese President Mr Xi Jinping, met staff and family members of the Myanmar Embassy and Military Attaché Office, as well as Myanmar scholarship students in Beijing.
Upon
arrival at the embassy, the President was warmly welcomed by embassy and
military attaché staff, their families, and scholarship students. He
also signed the embassy’s guest book before receiving briefings from embassy
officials and military representatives on their ongoing duties and activities.
In
his address, President U Min Aung Hlaing said the visit was his first State
Visit to China since assuming the presidency. He noted that Myanmar and China
share a longstanding “Pauk-Phaw” friendship and strategic partnership. During
the trip, he held talks with President Xi Jinping, Chinese Premier Li Qiang,
and senior Chinese officials, discussing ways to strengthen comprehensive
strategic cooperation and promote mutual benefits for both countries and their peoples.
The
President said China fully supports Myanmar’s efforts to maintain stability and
promote socioeconomic development, adding that the visit had produced positive
outcomes for bilateral relations. He also reaffirmed Myanmar’s commitment to
advancing along the path of a multiparty democratic system and stressed the
importance of public servants carrying out their responsibilities effectively.
Highlighting
the role of education in national development, he said Myanmar is investing in
education and human resource development to build a skilled and disciplined
workforce. He encouraged scholarship students to make the best use of their
educational opportunities, study modern technologies, including artificial
intelligence (AI), and contribute to strengthening Myanmar-China cooperation in
the future.
The
President also urged embassy and military attaché staff and their families
to support one another while serving abroad and to help promote economic
cooperation, trade, and investment opportunities between the two countries
through diplomatic channels.
Following
the meeting, the President presented gifts and cash awards to embassy families
and Myanmar military and civilian scholarship students studying in China. He
later greeted attendees, attended to their needs, and had dinner together with
embassy staff, families, and students.
