Offenders arrested for online gambling and scams in Muse

The security forces searched at 2:15 pm yesterday in Kaunghmuloi Ward, Muse Township, Shan State (North), and arrested 17 Chinese men, 34 Myanmar men, and 37 Myanmar women involved in online gambling and telecom fraud. They also seized 180 mobile phones, 44 all-in-one computers, two power stations, and one each of Crown and Alphard vehicles.

Additionally, at 2:30 pm on the same day, the security forces conducted another search in Kaunghmuloi Ward, Muse Township, Shan State (North), and arrested five Chinese men and one Chinese woman involved in online gambling and telecom fraud. Authorities also seized 103 mobile phones, six laptops, two all-in-one computers, four Wi-Fi devices, and two CPUs. Legal action will be taken against the offenders, and the foreign nationals will be repatriated to their respective countries on humanitarian grounds and in consideration of bilateral relations. The government is intensifying efforts to crack down on online scams and online gambling in cooperation with international partners, including neighbouring countries.
