Myanmar hosted the Mekong Tourism Forum 2026 and related meetings under the theme “Tourism for People, Travel with Purpose” at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Yangon from 14 to 19 June.
Union
Minister for Hotels, Tourism and Culture U Maung Myint hosted a working
luncheon for Cambodian Tourism Minister Mr Huot Hak, yesterday, and openly
discussed regional tourism related matters.
The
signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on tourism
cooperation between Myanmar and Cambodia was held. The Union minister and the
Cambodian Minister of Tourism signed the MoU on tourism cooperation between the
two countries.
Officials
from the Cambodia Tourism Board explained the current status of Cambodia’s
tourism industry, while officials from the Myanmar Tourism Federation presented
the conditions of Myanmar’s tourism sector.
The
Union minister and the Cambodian minister observed the food exhibition of
Greater Mekong Subregion being held at the Pan Pacific Hotel from 15 to 17
June.
In
the evening, the Union minister hosted dinner for the Cambodian Tourism
Minister, leaders and representatives of tourism authorities of Greater Mekong
Subregion and partner organizations at the Lotte hotel, and made greeting
speech.
