UNION Minister for Women’s Affairs Dr Thet Thet Zin, accompanied by the President of the Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation, yesterday met with female volunteer ten-household leaders at the village monastery in Oakthakan Village, Heho Township, Shan State, to discuss the implementation of the Rural Women’s Development Project.
During the meeting, the
Union minister stated that, to ensure the longterm sustainability of the
project activities, action plans must be systematically developed at the
district, township, and village levels. She also stressed that responsible
officials should conduct regular field inspections to monitor and assess
whether tangible progress is being achieved on the ground.
Following this, Daw Tin
Tin Latt, President of the Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation, stated that the
implementation of the Rural Women’s Development Project is mandatory and
requires continuous supervision by the township and district women’s affairs federations.
Afterwards, Daw Nang Kham Lu, Shan State Minister for Social Affairs,
encouraged women to strive for leadership positions. The attending female
volunteers then raised questions on issues of concern, which were answered by
the responsible officials.
