Deputy Ministers reply to queries at Pyithu Hluttaw session

The 11th-day meeting of the Pyithu Hluttaw emphasized the response to nine questions and submission on the findings of the Anti-Online Scam Bill.

At the question-and-answer session, Deputy Minister for Digital Development and Communications U Thet Win Aung answered the questions presented by U Htay Lwin (aka) U Di Lone from the Namsang Constituency. He said the ministry will earmark the plans to build mobile communication stations in the remote areas such as Namlit, Haingnagyi and Peinse village-tracts in Namsang Township depending on supply of electricity, communication network and financial allocation.

He also responded to the questions raised by U Myo (aka) U Myo Aung from the Pyay Constituency, saying that the works to clear the tangled fibre optic cables in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, and Mandalay have now commenced according to a plan. Measures are being taken to clear the fibre cables, improve the appearance of the cities in line with urban standards by reducing the congestion of telecommunication poles through port sharing, and arrange for the relocation and construction of above-ground fibre optic cables underground.
With regard to the questions raised by U Khin Maung Tun from the Phaungpyin Constituency, the deputy minister answered it is difficult to repair the microwave links and fibre links due to security conditions of the regions. Depending on the peace and stability of the regions, efforts will be made to arrange the communication facilitie of mobile networks in Phaungpyin Township.

The deputy minister also answered the questions submitted by U Nay Lin Aung from the North Okkalapa Constituency, saying that regarding the advertising of Slot Games and gambling agents, coordination is being carried out with internet service provider companies to block and restrict gambling websites and applications through domestic Internet gateways.

He responded to the queries raised by U Aung Lin Hlaing from the Bokpyin Constituency, stating that internet users will be able to obtain and use services according to the types of services provided by companies holding internet service business licences and in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations. If telecom providers fail to comply with and fulfil the requirements in accordance with the rules and regulations, complaints may be submitted to the Ministry.

With regard to the questions submitted by U Tin Htwe from the Okpo Constituency, Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Thaik Soe said that the maintenance and repair work for the three-mile and four-furlong Magyipin-Byantgyi-Kinmonchon-Chaungna earthen road will be carried out to ensure smooth and convenient travel. The road widening of the eight-foot-wide section and upgrading it into a durable laterite road will also be planned and implemented in the coming financial year.
He also replied the questions raised by U Aung Myo Than from the Kawhmu Constituency, stating that the plan to pave concrete along the South Kyaikhtaw-Tartazin inter-village road in Kawhmu Township will be prioritized in the nearest financial year but it depends on the financial allocation.

The deputy minister also responded to the questions submitted by Daw Ohnma Moh Moh Zaw from the Thaegon Constituency, saying that the six-furlong section of Okse-Yintaiktan-Hnawgon road in Thaegon Township will be upgarded as the expansion of the earthen embankment and placing the laterite.

The deputy minister answered the queries presented by U Ye Htut Aung from the Minhla Constituency, stating that the Thayettabin-Tahson-Seinkantlant laterite road in Minhla Township will be upgraded to the concrete facility in 2027-28 financial year by demanding the fund.

Secretary of the Bill Committee read out the findings on studies for the Anti-Online Scam Bill sent by the Amyotha Hluttaw with amendments.

Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Maung Maung Ohn announced that any representatives can enlist to submit proposals on amendment to the bill.

The Pyithu Hluttaw wil continue its 12th-day meeting on 22 June.
