MoT holds 149th Anniversary of Myanma Railways

 



The Ministry of Transport held a ceremony to commemorate the 149th anniversary of Myanma Railways at 1 pm yesterday at the Myanma Railways Head Office in Nay Pyi Taw.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister for Transport U Aung Myaing, Deputy Minister for Digital Development and Communications U Thet Win Aung, the permanent secretary from the Ministry of Transport, and other officials.
Deputy Minister U Aung Myaing first delivered a speech marking the 149th anniversary of Myanma Railways.

The managing director of Myanma Railways then briefed participants on the department’s activities for the 2025-2026 financial year.

Afterwards, deputy ministers and attendees watched a documentary commemorating the 149th anniversary.

Deputy ministers, the permanent secretary, director-general, and managing director then presented awards to 91 officers and staff members who had performed their duties with excellence at various railway stations, divisions, factories, and hospitals during the 2025-2026 financial year.
