ON the morning of 16 May 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a Diplomatic Coffee Morning at its premises in Yangon, which brought together Ambassadors, Chargés d’Affaires, and diplomats from foreign embassies based in Yangon, as well as representatives from the United Nations agencies.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Ko Ko Kyaw. During the event, the deputy minister stated that this event was organized with the aim of strengthening engagement and cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign embassies, as well as the United Nations agencies based in Yangon.
Furthermore, the deputy minister stated that the new Government democratically elected by the people assumed office on 10 April 2026. He mentioned that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will enhance international relations, and expressed hope that the international community will extend constructive support and cooperation to ensure greater effectiveness and success in the country’s ongoing efforts toward the democratic path, peace, stability, and development.
The event was attended by approximately 50 participants, including officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chairman of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS), former Myanmar Ambassadors, as well as Ambassadors, Chargés d’Affaires and members of the diplomatic corps in Yangon, alongside representatives from the United Nations agencies. Authentic Myanmar coffee and an array of traditional breakfast delicacies were served at the event.
