UNION Minister for Electricity and Energy U Ko Ko Lwin inspected the electricity and energy sector operations within the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area yesterday.
He observed the National Control Centre and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Control Centre of the Electric Power Control Branch (Nay Pyi Taw), and instructed the need to intensify the actions in transitioning the outdated metre reading systems and electricity billing systems to digital systems.
During the inspection of the 230 KV Nay Pyi Taw main power station, he stated that potential difficulties in power distribution during the rainy season should be anticipated in advance and that clearing and maintenance work along power transmission lines should be carried out continuously.
The Union minister observed the installation of Hydraulic Elevated Dam (HED) at the spillway of the Paunglaung Dam and Hydraulic Model Test for the spillway of the Upper Kengtawng hydropower project.
