Chin State coordinates urgent rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts

A coordination meeting of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee was held at 1 pm yesterday in the meeting hall of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.

At the meeting, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win said that, under a notification dated 22 March issued by the Office of the President, the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee had been formed with Deputy Minister Dr Than Soe serving as chairman and a total of 22 representatives from relevant ministries serving as members.

The Union Minister instructed officials to conduct field visits for rehabilitation efforts in Tonzang, Falam and Tiddim townships in Chin State and, if necessary, to form working committees to carry out related tasks. He also directed departmental representatives attending the meeting to coordinate in advance with their respective departments in Chin State regarding rehabilitation matters.
