The Mei Nu Brick Monastery in Ancient Inwa, TadaU District, Mandalay Region, will be renovated in accordance with international standards, the Ministry of Hotels, Tourism and Culture has announced.
The Aungmyay
Bonsan Brick Monastery, popularly known as the Mei Nu Brick Monastery, was
damaged by the Mandalay earthquake on 28 March 2025 and will be restored as per
international standards.
During the
renovation, the entire northern section of the monastery, which was damaged by
the earthquake, will be restored in consultation with local and international
archaeologists and construction experts to preserve its original design and
structure.
