The Embassy of India in Yangon hosted “New Year Meet and Greet Reception” on 8 January 2026 at the India House in Dagon Township, Yangon, with the presence of officials from UMFCCI, Myanmar Women Entrepreneurs Association, Friendship Association, members of Myanmar Press Council, over 25 different media outlets, and local business entities, including liquor producers, importers and distributors.
The
embassy offered Indian food and beverages to guests. This event also aimed to
promote India’s beverages in Myanmar.
Moreover,
a video showcasing India-Myanmar collaboration in some sectors in 2025, and
music teachers and students from the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre also
performed Bollywood songs and Myanmar songs.
