Preparatory meetings held, polling stations inspected for 2025 General Election

 

To ensure the successful holding of the 2025 multiparty democratic general election, the coordination meetings were held at the meeting halls of the Kachin State government office, North-East Command, and the relevant regions and states’ chief ministers, regions, states, districts, townships’ levels election commissions members and departmental officials attended the meetings.

The region and state chief ministers and commanders made remarks respectively, and the departmental officials reported on their tasks for the electoral processes.

The region and state chief ministers, commanders and officials inspected the polling stations in Myitkyina Township in Kachin Sate, Lashio Township in Shan State (North), Taunggyi, Kholang, Namhsan, Loilem, Panglong and Langkho of Shan State (South), Kengtung Township in Shan State (East), Myeik Township in Taninthayi Region, Mayangon, Hmawby and Taikkyi townships in Yangon Region, Monywa Township in Sagaing Region, Pyay and Shwetaung townships in Bago Region to inspect the preparations, voter lists display, installation of voting machines, transport system and healthcare for voters, fire safety and security measures.

The heads of the polling stations explained the preparations to cast votes with MEVMs, and the officials provided proper instructions.
