500 Labutta locals receive healthcare from Tatmadaw mobile medical team

To provide healthcare services to local residents living along the Ayeyawady River, the Tatmadaw’s riverine mobile medical team — comprising the Tatmadaw floating hospital vessel Shwe Puzun, the river vessel Saku, accompanying specialists, doctors, and nurses — continued its medical outreach yesterday.

The team, which set up its base at the monastery in Betut Village, Labutta Township, provided healthcare services to 564 residents from the village and nearby communities.

According to the team, medical care was provided to 241 patients with general illnesses, 32 surgical patients, 40 obstetric/gynaecological patients, 29 paediatric patients, 96 orthopaedic patients, 35 ENT patients, 45 ophthalmology patients, and 46 dental and oral patients — totalling 564 individuals who received the necessary treatment.

Among them, nine patients underwent general surgery, five patients received eye surgery, 19 patients had tooth extraction or fillings, 19 patients received X-rays, 24 patients were examined using ultrasound, 14 patients underwent ECG heart tests, and 49 patients received laboratory tests as part of diagnostic and treatment services.

In addition, students from the Youth Development Charity Home, which is located at the monastery, were given a health awareness talk on dental and oral hygiene.
