THE Tatmadaw mobile specialist medical team from the Tatmadaw Hospital Ship Thanlwin, which is providing healthcare services in villages in Cocokyun Township in Yangon Region and Hainggyikyun Township in Ayeyawady Region, continued delivering medical care yesterday morning to 530 local people from Hainggyikyun and nearby villages in Ngaputaw Township at the local Tatmadaw hospital.
The team,
comprising Tatmadaw medical specialists, doctors and nurses, provided
healthcare services for 192 general patients, 59 surgical patients, 16
obstetric patients, 42 paediatric patients, 79 orthopaedic patients, 49 ENT
patients, 78 ophthalmology patients and 15 dental patients. In addition, 10
general surgery patients, seven eye surgery patients, 18 X-ray patients, 36
ultrasound patients, 27 ECG patients and 48 laboratory test patients received
the necessary diagnostic and treatment services.
Furthermore,
medical specialists from the team successfully conducted a Caesarean delivery
at 7:51 am for Daw Phyu Phyu Thin from Sanpya Village in Hainggyikyun, who gave
birth to a baby girl weighing five pounds and four ounces. Both the mother and
the newborn are in good health. Officials presented cash assistance and gifts
to the newborn, who is the first baby delivered during the current mission and
has been named Thin Thanlwin. Since 2016, the Tatmadaw Hospital Ship Thanlwin
has assisted 22 mothers during 18 missions and 23 mothers during the current
19th mission.
Likewise,
officials met May Thanlwin, the first baby successfully delivered on 2 March
2016 during the initial voyage of the hospital ship. Now aged ten, she was
invited on board, where officials provided cash assistance, nutritious food
items and a health check.
Tatmadaw
officials continued to support local patients receiving treatment, including
distributing eyeglasses to eye surgery patients, providing nutritious food and
arranging transport services for patients through shuttle vehicles to ensure
convenience. Breakfast was also provided to the patients.
