More schools reopen in Hsipaw as public services resume

EFFORTS by the government, Tatmadaw, and local people have enabled the reopening of more schools for students to resume learning as soon as possible in Hsipaw, Shan State (North).

Following the reopening of No 1 Basic Education High School, No 2 Basic Education Post-Primary School and No 7 Basic Education Primary School on 22 October and 24 October, one more school – No 3 Basic Education High School – was reopened, bringing the total number of reopened schools in Hsipaw to four.

Student enrolment continues, with 101 more students registered yesterday, bringing the total number of students attending classes to 1,331. Students are now able to study peacefully, and the Ministry of Education has provided free textbooks, stationery, and school supplies. In addition, special immunization activities are being conducted by the Public Health Department for 140 students under the age of 15.

As part of these ongoing efforts, Tatmadaw personnel, together with members of the Myanmar Police Force, the Fire Services Department, relevant departmental personnel, and residents, conducted a collective cleaning campaign yesterday at No 2 Basic Education High School and a branch of Basic Education High School (Bawgyo) in Hsipaw.

Meanwhile, Hsipaw People’s Hospital continues to provide healthcare services to local ethnic residents. Yesterday, 16 outpatients and two inpatients received medical care.

At the same time, Tatmadaw demining teams continue to clear landmines in and around Hsipaw, particularly in areas near government offices and public routes. Security personnel are continuing to carry out territorial security and administrative duties to help maintain peace, stability, and long-term regional development, thereby ensuring that local ethnic residents can live and work safely and peacefully.
