THE groundbreaking and cornerstone-laying ceremony for the Shwe Min Wun Myanmar-China Friendship Mall in Sagaing was held yesterday morning at the designated construction site. The event was jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar and the Myanmar-China Chamber of Commerce, with coordination from the Myanmar-China Friendship Association.

Minister U Myat Kyaw, regional ministers, Chinese Embassy Chargé d’Affaires
Ms Cao Ping, Chairman of the Myanmar-China Chamber of Commerce Mr Liu Ming and
members, officials, and local residents attended the ceremony.
The Chief Minister and
officials placed cornerstones and carried out the groundbreaking rites at the
designated spots of the new mall site. Afterwards, the Chief Minister
delivered a speech, followed by remarks from the Chinese Embassy Charge
d’Affaires and the Chairman of the Myanmar-China Chamber of Commerce on the
donation and construction of the new market.
Later, the officials
attended the Youth Strategic Forum Myanmar’s Future 2025 experience-sharing
session at the gymnasium of Sagaing University of Education. Deputy Minister
for Sports and Youth Affairs U Zin Min Htet delivered a speech. The Chief
Minister also presented books and periodicals to the Rector of Sagaing
University of Education, while the Region Minister for Social Affairs handed
the youth forum commemorative emblem to the Chief Minister.
The Deputy Minister
handed over sports equipment to the Rector of Sagaing University on behalf of
universities and degree colleges in Sagaing city. A forum participant then
shared reflections on the experience, followed by students performing the
Sagaing Region song. The Deputy Minister awarded the student performers.
Furthermore, the
officials visited the 26th Traditional Myanmar Cultural Performing
Arts Competition at the Sagaing City Hall, and inspected the ongoing
renovation of the earthquake-damaged Culamuni Kaunghmudaw Pagoda in Sagaing,
where they made necessary instructions.
