THE government strictly takes action against those who enter the country via the border routes and commit online gambling, online scams, and other criminal activities, and also transfers offender to their respective countries as per the law and procedures.
Authorities detained one Chinese national
who illegally entered the country and conducted online gambling and online
scams in the Myawady-Maehtawthalay and KK Park area in Kayin State yesterday.
Officials conducted activities to ensure the rapid transfer of the offender.
Between 30 January and 7 July 2025, a
total of 9,199 illegal immigrants were identified and detained in Myanmar. Of
this number, 8,987 individuals have already been deported through Thailand to
their respective countries, while arrangements are being made to deport the
remaining 212 individuals. These individuals are currently under detention
while awaiting repatriation.
The government is strictly cracking
down on telecom fraud, online scams, and gambling by cooperating with other
countries, including neighbouring countries, and systematically transferring
the foreigners involved in these illegal operations.
