Accompanied by deputy ministers and departmental officials, the General oversaw
the completion and relocation process of the container houses allocated by the
National Disaster Management Committee. These units are intended to serve as
temporary shelters for affected personnel of the Ministry of Transport and
Communications.
The
inspection tour included the Nay Pyi Taw Central Railway Station compound, the
Department of Road Transport Administration (Ywataw), Office No (2) and Office
No (5), the Nay Pyi Taw Central Post Office, and Myanma Posts and
Telecommunications areas in Dekkhinathiri Township. The General examined the
provision of drinking water, electricity supply and other basic necessities at
the sites.
He
instructed officials to build proper kitchen facilities, ensure all essential
supplies are available and carry out systematic planting of shade trees and
vegetables around the housing units. He also called for the prompt issuance of
household registration documents, the completion of remaining container house
installations within the designated timeline and the swift relocation of
remaining staff and their families.
According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, out of 871 container
houses allocated, 866 units, accounting for 99.42 per cent have already been
completed.
