State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo inspected the telecommunication infrastructure, communication services and work processes of Myanmar Shipyards in Yangon and Bago regions.
On
24 May, the Deputy Prime Minister arrived at the regional manager’s office of
Myanma Posts and Telecommunications in Bago and heard the reports regarding the
communication services. He observed the departmental buildings and land that
are in the area of the Hanthawady city wall, and gave proper guidance.
On
arrival at the Bago auto-exchange office, he inspected the installation of
communication devices at the auto-exchange, mobile station and microwave
station and preventive measures against flood, and made proper instructions not
to occur failures in communication.
General
Mya Tun Oo also met the board of directors of Myanmar National Airlines in
Yangon and instructed them to prioritize aviation safety, market
competitiveness, quality services and cost-effectiveness, and ensure the
success and sustainability in the long run for being the country’s flag carrier
airline.
On
25 May, the General met officials from KDDI Sumitomo Corporation in Yangon.
Moreover, he met departmental officials under MPT, and highlighted the need to
study more technologies used internationally in order to improve the
telecommunication services, penetrate the telecom market more effectively in
line with the consumer needs, explore and implement ways to increase revenue
while reducing expenses, and use renewable energy by identifying cost-effective
methods of energy consumption in respective regions.
On
arrival at the Myanma Shipyards, the Deputy Prime Minister heard reports made
by the Managing Director and gave proper instructions to provide assistance by
the affiliated departments. The General also inspected the workflow.
