THE government is actively cracking down on online gambling and telecom fraud including other criminal acts in border areas. A total of 222 foreigners who illegally entered the Myawady-Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas via border routes passing some neighbouring countries including Thailand were arrested yesterday.
Authorities
collected the personal data and records just in one day to transfer them to
their respective countries as quickly as possible.
Deputy
Police Chief Police Maj-Gen Tin Ko Ko of the Myanmar Police Force under the
Ministry of Home Affairs inspected the working processes.
From
30 January to 21 February 2025, the government arrested 1,985 foreigners who
illegally entered the country, and 561 of them were transferred to their
respective countries via Thailand, and the remaining 1,424 are also ready to be
transferred.
