MYANMAR Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) made its 15th blood donation drive yesterday morning at the MPT Training School Hall in Thakayta Township, Yangon, under the “Donate Blood to Save Lives” initiative. Employees of MPT and voluntary donors contributed a total of 320 blood bags.
The blood
donation event was also held simultaneously at the 1,000-bed General Hospital
in Nay Pyi Taw, MPT Training School, Mandalay General Hospital, Magway General
Hospital, Dawei General Hospital, Pathein General Hospital and Sao San Tun
General Hospital in Taunggyi. A total of 9,000 donors participated in the
nationwide campaign.
As part of
its corporate social responsibility efforts, MPT initiated its blood donation
programme in 2016. Since then, the organization has donated 8,500 blood bags to
hospitals and the National Blood Centre across the country.
