Cement allowed to be imported arrived at Yangon Port

 

Currently, it is the open season and construction has been at dramatic speed countrywide, the import of cement has been allowed to meet cement demand domestically for construction works and to strengthen domestic production.

The vessel carrying 3,000 tonnes of cement imported through Kawthoung Border Trade Post, reportedly arrived at Shwe Pyi Tha-Mottama Port Yangon on 21 February 2025. It has been underway to distribute in the market on the morning of 22 February 2025.

It is informed that the import of cement required for domestic construction activities during this period has been allowed and in addition to this vessel, the rest of the vessels which carry cement will be arriving week by week.
