The 69th Kayin State Day ceremony, a celebration honouring the heritage and pride of the Kayin people, took place on 7 November on the grounds of the state government office.
Attendees included State Administration Council members Mahn Nyein Maung and Khun San Lwin, Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Chief Ministers U Saw Myint Oo of Kayin State and U Aung Kyi Thein of Mon State, as well as ethnic representatives, peace group members, and residents. The ceremony began with a flag salute and a tribute to national leaders and fallen heroes. A message from State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was read by Mahn Nyein Maung.
The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open exhibitions highlighting Kayin traditions, local products, and achievements in agriculture, small-scale industries, and horticulture. The festivities also featured a traditional boat race and awards in agriculture, traditional crafts, and sports, promoting both cultural pride and local enterprise.
The celebration continued with a formal awards ceremony at Zwekabin Hall, recognizing achievements across social, economic, educational, and environmental sectors. The lively atmosphere extended into the evening with traditional dance performances and competitions, attended by SAC members on 6 November.
