Hlinethaya Township to establish green zones within three-mile radius

 


A good social environment must be shaped in Hlinethaya Township aligned with residents.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing underlined that Hlinethaya Township must be standardized under the systematic town plan.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing yesterday afternoon inspected the progress in urban development undertakings in Hlinethaya Township and Yangon Western Technological University in Yangon Region.

The Senior General inspected the maintenance of drains between the Aung Zeya Bridge and the Meekhwet Market in Hlinethaya Township and gave guidance on the proper flow of water in the drains and systematic cultivation of shade trees along both sides of the road.

At Bayintnaung Park, Mayor U Bo Htay reported to the Senior General on the construction of the multipurpose buildings, funfair places, car parks, playgrounds, swimming pools and public recreation areas in the park.

The Region Chief Minister and the Mayor presented reports on the accomplishment of the guidance on the development of urban areas given by the Senior General on his inspection tour of Hlinethaya Township, hosting festivities in the park with public participation, beautification process in the township and drainage process in Yangon Western Technological University for prevention of flooding.

In his speech, the Senior General said that Hlinethaya Township must be standardized under the systematic town plan. It is necessary to create a social environment aligned with the people. Officials need to fulfill the needs of healthcare, sanitation and water supply for the people. Emphasis must be placed on the proper flow of water in the town. Green zones must be created in a three-mile radius area of Hlinethaya.

The Senior General viewed the layout plan of the township and gave guidance on the urban development process to officials.

At Yangon West University, the Senior General heard reports on the learning of students at the university, the appointment of administration and academic staff, and implementation of the guidance of the Senior General on his inspection tour of the university presented by Rector Dr Kyi Soe.

The Senior General stressed the need to calculate the construction of extended lecture halls and other supporting buildings to meet the university characteristics and consider building all structures of the university an adequate distance among them.

The Senior General viewed round the progress of a three-storey lecture building of the university and left necessary guidance.
