Sri Lanka donates Ceylon tea to flood-hit communities nationwide

FOR flood victims across various affected regions in Myanmar, 226.2 kilograms of Ceylon Tea were donated by Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath on 14 October at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Sri Lanka. The donation was received by Myanmar Ambassador to Sri Lanka Daw Marlar Than Htike, who also expressed her gratitude for the donation.

Organizations and donors from countries such as China, Japan, and South Korea have also provided financial support and donated essential items to aid in relief and recovery efforts for flood victims across affected regions in Myanmar.

It is essential to manage the donations made by generous donors systematically, ensuring they reach those who genuinely need them. Contributions from abroad, made with pure goodwill and free from conditions, are being processed systematically and accepted. Donors are encouraged to continue supporting the country’s economic development initiatives and efforts to enhance the education of its citizens. This message was conveyed by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister, during a donation event on 28 September in Nay Pyi Taw, aimed at supporting relief and recovery efforts for regions affected by flooding related to the recent monsoon.
