Never give up in the face of heart disease

WORLD Heart Day is a global initiative to raise awareness about the heart health of humans. Even simply acknowledging this important day dedicated to heart health can make a difference for everyone. Cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death worldwide, claims over 20.5 million lives annually, according to the World Heart Federation. This day promotes the importance of heart health through various activities aimed at preventing suffering based on heart-related conditions like heart attacks, stroke, and heart failure.

World Heart Day is observed globally on 29 September each year to raise awareness about heart disease and promote preventive measures for managing cardiovascular conditions. The 2024 theme, ‘Use Heart for Action’, provides a global platform for impactful initiatives, emphasizing the importance of intentional efforts. World Heart Day aims to spread knowledge about the dos and don’ts for preventing heart diseases and alleviating the impact of heart conditions on patients.

Medical experts, such as cardiologists, inform people about the dangers of heart disease. Additionally, individuals can benefit from advice rooted in religious teachings, which emphasize compassion for all living beings. Practising compassion helps maintain both physical and mental peace, promoting a healthy mental state. By cultivating compassion, individuals can support their heart health, contributing to stable blood circulation and overall well-being.

Individuals who do not suffer from heart disease should take preventive measures to avoid becoming heart disease patients. That includes reducing the consumption of cooking oil, monosodium glutamate, and foods high in cholesterol. By following doctors’ advice and incorporating regular walking exercises, they can effectively lower their risk. Additionally, managing mental states, such as avoiding excessive anger and excitement, is essential for maintaining heart health.

As a best practice, individuals, especially heart patients, can manage rapid heartbeats or aid in their recovery from heart disease through meditation. Regardless of religion or nationality, patients suffering from various conditions, including cancer, diabetes, and others, may reduce their risks by adopting meditation as an effective therapy.

The world and natural environment offer everyone an equal opportunity to live. However, individuals may face diseases depending on their physical and mental habits. Their actions shape their lives. Those suffering from heart disease should not give up. They need to remember, ‘A quitter never wins, and a winner never quits.’ With this mindset, heart patients can strive to overcome their challenges and recover as quickly as possible.
