The ceremony to mark World Teachers’ Day 2024 was held at the Ministry of Education in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The event was attended by State
Administration Council members Dr Hmuh Thang and Dr Ba Shwe, Union Ministers,
Deputy Ministers, Directors-General, honourable persons, outstanding teachers,
prize-winning teachers and students.
First, Union Minister for Education Dr
Nyunt Pe read out the message sent by SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior
General Min Aung Hlaing to the World Teacher’s Day event.
Then, the officials read out messages from the leaders of five organizations
under the United Nations under the theme “Valuing Teacher Voices” and briefed
the activities of honorary persons and outstanding teachers for 2024 World
Teachers’ Day.
The SAC members and party presented certificates of appreciation and cash
prizes to winners of teachers and students in article, essay and poem
competitions.
They then paid respect to 12 senior
faculty members of the Botany Department, Dr Myint Swe, chairman of the
National Curriculum Committee and Dr Maung Kyaw, vice-chair of Myanmar Academy
of Arts and Science, and Dr U Win and Dr Maung Kyaw, vice-chairs of Myanmar
Academy of Arts and Science delivered speeches of advice on behalf of senior
teachers.
After the ceremony, the SAC members and
attendees observed the booths opened at the event.
