Hand-painting artists offer services to Bagan travellers

 

The local hand-painting artists are prepared to provide hand-painting services at the famous pagodas and shades of Htanaung trees for visitors to Bagan during the Thadingyut holiday, according to local hand-painting artists.

During the Thadingyut holidays, travellers across the nation travel to Bagan. All the places are crowded on the day before the full moon day, on the full moon day and the day after the full moon day, and hotels and guesthouses are also fully booked. Moreover, it can create job opportunities for residents.

“All visitors to Bagan can get special merit as it is a well-known religious culture site. It is peaceful, and Myanmar’s cultural heritage is concentrated there, so it is a must-visit. When the visitors arrive in Bagan, they visit famous pagodas, ride horse carts, enjoy the sunset and hand painted as culture. Foreigners like the paintings depicting Bagan pagodas and local travellers like modern hand paintings depicting the Bagan era. There might be a huge number of visitors this year, so the hand painters prepare modern paintings combining the ancient and modern Bagan culture. We warmly welcome the visitors,” said U Zeyar, a hand-painting artist.

In the Bagan Ancient Cultural Heritage Zone, the hand painting service is available at Shwezigon, Htilominlo, Alotawpyae, Ananda, Buu Phaya, Thatbyinnyu Temple, Dhammayangyi, Shwesandaw, Lawka Nanda, Manuha, Mya Zedi, Hngetpyittaung, Tuyin Hill and other pagodas and temples.

The price of hand painting costs from K1,500 to K30,000 per hand. Over 100 hand-painting artists from the 10-year-old hand-painting industry offer painting services for local and foreign travellers yearly.
