THE Myanmar Police Force has announced the seizure of 1.16 million stimulant tablets valued at K1.74 billion in Padaung Township, Bago Region.
Acting on a tip-off, a comK1.74B worth of drugs seized in Padaung township bound for Rakhine bined team, including members of the Anti-Drug Police Force, conducted a search of a farmhouse owned by Htun Kyaw in Padaung Township, Bago Region, at 1 am on 16 June. During the operation, the police arrested 10 suspects, including Htun Kyaw, and seized the stimulant tablets.
The suspects confessed that the drugs were intended to be transported from Padaung to Ann. Police have filed charges against 12 suspects, including Myat Thu Win (aka) Naung Naung and Thein Soe, who were involved in ordering the transport of the stimulant tablets. Investigations are ongoing to uncover others involved in the case.
