SUPERVISED by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, action is being taken under the law against illicit trading across the nation.
The on-duty team managed by the Mon State Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force impounded two trucks (worth approximately K80 million) heading to Kyaikmaraw from Phayathonzu, carrying five kinds of goods worth K27.255 million, including 576 bags of Koh Kae egg peanut without official documents, in Kyaikmaraw township on 17 June. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
On the same day, the combined teams nabbed a light truck (worth approximately K22 million) carrying 9,600 bottles of Sponsor soft drink from Thailand valued at K8 million without official documents on the detour of Kengtung township, 24,750 kilogrammes of plastic resin worth K35.5 million at the Myanmar Industrial Port and 1,315 jerrycans of palm oil from Malaysia (each containing 18 litres) worth K17.272 million without Import Licence and four kinds of goods worth K36.132 million, including 2332.8 square metres of porcelain tiles from China that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID), from six containers at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
During inspections on 17 and 19 June, the combined teams captured six kinds of medicines worth K287,500, including ten boxes of Ventolin without Myanmar drug registration number, in Mingala Taungnyunt township and an unregistered Honda CRV (worth approximately K8 million) at the Yadanabon bridge combined checkpoint in Sagaing township. The action was taken under related procedures and the Export and Import Law.
