SENIOR General Min Aung Hlaing underlined that the Yangon Region emphasizes boosting the production of meat, fish, and seasonal crops in order to adjust to the high prices of commodities in supply and demand as the region is populous with many factories and industries.
Yesterday, Chairman of the State
Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspected
progress in the implementation of the Thilawa Multi-Agriculture and Livestock
Zone Project of Myanmar Economic Corporation between Yangon River and Hmawun
Creek in Kyauktan Township yesterday.
While in the project area, the Senior
General stressed the need to efficiently utilize land plots in the zone, urging
all to extend agriculture and livestock tasks, including raising layers and
ducks with better livestock breeding techniques.
He continued that as efforts are
being made to produce products from agriculture and livestock zones to flow
into people directly for declining commodity prices, it is necessary to contact
the Yangon City Development Committee and convenient shops of the military
command headquarters.
The Senior General pointed out that
if Myanmar produces products for local food security, it will have a plan to
export frozen meat and fish to neighbouring countries and regional countries.
He continued that Myanmar has a firm
market for the export of meat, fish, and agricultural produce due to the high
demand from regional countries.
Chairman of MEC Lt-Gen Nyo Saw and
officials reported on the implementation of the Shwe Pyi Agriculture and
Livestock Zone, the functioning of the Thilawa Multi-Agriculture and Livestock
Zone and 26th-mile Multi-Agriculture and Livestock Zone plans to distribute
agricultural and livestock products to the market, production of feedstuffs at
the livestock zones, and sales of dairy products.
The Senior General viewed samples of
fish species being bred at the Thilawa Multi-Agriculture and Livestock Zone and
eggs produced from relevant zones.
He inspected the fish hatching
process at the livestock zone, duck farming and fish farming tasks at the
Thilawa Multi-Agriculture and Livestock Zone and left instructions on the
