The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs deservedly won the championship trophy with a 4-3 win over the Ministry of Planning and Finance in the Inter-Ministry Men’s Football Tournament.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing awarded the winning teams in the Inter-Ministry Men’s Football Tournament in commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day at Wunna Theikkdhi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
From the start of the final match, both the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Ministry of Planning and Finance put pressure on each other by controlling the ball with might and main. At 8 minutes, the Ministry of Planning and Finance scored an opening goal to lead the match. But, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs translated its chances as an equalizer at 11 minutes and scored two more goals at 16 minutes and 18 minutes to take a leading role with a 3-1 win. However, the Ministry of Planning and Finance took one more goal at 42 minutes. At the end of the first half, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs still led the match with a 3-2 result.
In the second half, the Ministry of Planning and Finance scored one more equalizer at 47 minutes. So, the competitions of both teams reached the climax with a 3-3 result. As they could not break a deadlock of such a result, the match ended with a 3-3 draw at the final whistle.
In the extra
time, the player of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs team shot an
intense kick outside the 18-yard box of the Ministry of Planning and Finance
team into the net at 18 minutes. Finally, the match ended with a 4-3 result.
Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry celebrated securing champion in
Inter-Ministry Football Tournament.
The Union
Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and SAC members presented best player
awards, cash awards, and individual medals to respective players.
Council members General Mya Tun Oo, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, and Lt-Gen Nyo Saw also
presented prizes, cash awards, and individual medals to the second
prize-winning Ministry of Planning and Finance team, third prize-winning
Ministry of Home Affairs team and fourth prize-winning Ministry of Construction
team respectively.
Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo gave individual medals to players from the
champion Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs team.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented cash awards and a championship trophy to champion Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs team and cordially greeted players.
