According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the GTTC India-Myanmar Forum and the Indian Economic Trade Organization-Myanmar Forum were held in New Delhi on 23 December to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Myanmar-India diplomatic relations.
These forums took place at the Myanmar Embassy in New Delhi, India, on 23 December, coinciding with the ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of Myanmar-India diplomatic relations. Smt Meenakshi Lekhi, the Minister of State from the Ministry of External Affairs of India, graced the event as the guest of honour. Ambassadors and their spouses from ASEAN countries and partner countries, special guests, diplomats, representatives of the Indian Parliament, officials from the Ministry of External Affairs of India, businessmen from Myanmar, and businessmen from India also attended the ceremony.
During the ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary of Myanmar-India diplomatic relations, U Moe Kyaw Aung, the Myanmar Ambassador to India, and Smt Meenakshi Lekhi, the Minister of State at the Ministry of External Affairs of India, extended their greetings.
Additionally,
the GTTC India-Myanmar Forum and the Indian Economic Trade Organization-Myanmar
Forum organized a trade fair showcasing Myanmar cultural art, lacquerware, and
products such as beans, avocados, Myanmar gems, and Indian products in around
20 stalls inside the Myanmar Embassy.
A total of 12 representatives from Myanmar and India participated in the GTTC
India-Myanmar Forum and the Indian Economic Trade Organization-Myanmar Forum.
Moreover, the guests were served Myanmar food, including coconut noodles,
vermicelli, pickled tea leaves salad, Myanmar tea, and coffee, during the
event.
Intending to promote Myanmar-Indian cultural exchange, participants wore
Myanmar ethnic costumes and Indian traditional costumes, presenting songs and
dances performed by Indian dance groups.
