THE Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Legal Affairs and Deputy Attorney-General Dr Htein Lin Oo attended the Fifth China-ASEAN Legal Cooperation Conference held on 1 November in Chongqing, China.
The meeting
was attended by Lu Kehua, Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs
Committee of the Chongqing Municipal Committee, Zhang Mingqi, Vice-President
and General Secretary of the Chinese Law Society, Professor Lin Wei, Principal
of Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Supreme Court judges from
Cambodia, Laos and Indonesia and legal professionals from ASEAN countries and
China and foreign scholars.
As a vital
and powerful legal cooperation between the Ministry of Legal Affairs and the
China-ASEAN Legal Research Centre, they discussed sending legal officers from
the Ministry of Legal Affairs to the Southwest University of Political Science
and Law as scholars and signing the Memorandum of Understanding on Legal
Cooperation and Legal Research Projects between the China-ASEAN Legal Research
Centre and the Ministry of Legal Affairs in July 2023.
