UNION Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin led a Myanmar delegation to Moscow for the Russia Energy Week International Forum (REW) on 6 October following their participation in the First Energy Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Kazakhstan from 3 to 6 October.
The Union minister held discussions
with the Roscongress Investment-RCI delegation, led by Mr A Segey
Vladimirovish, focusing on energy-related matters. Topics included expediting
joint actions, the need for a deep-water port to accommodate large oil tankers
for a new oil refinery in Myanmar, an invitation for Myanmar officials to
attend the 2024 Energy Forum in Vladivostok, and opportunities for mutual
development.
Union Minister U Ko Ko Lwin
emphasized the importance of fostering close cooperation with friendly
countries like Russia to meet Myanmar's energy requirements and looked forward
to deeper collaboration in the future, given the historical friendship between
Myanmar and Russia.
