THERE will be no openings for over 9-tonne box trucks under the E-lock system, according to an official of the Department of Transport Planning.
The launching of the Phase 1 Logistic
Surveillance (E-lock) System on containers and box trucks commenced at Thilawa
Special Economic Zone in Yangon on 19 September.
Phase 1 of the E-Lock system will
begin on the Yangon Thilawa SEZ-Myawady route. Then, it will proceed to
Yagon-Myawady, Yangon-Mandalay and Mandalay-Muse routes under Phase II.
The system will provide real-time
monitoring of cargo movements, track and detect the activity and whereabouts of
the trucks, ensure safe and secured logistics and smooth trade flow, minimize
cargo delays, reduce the loss risks of the goods and save certain fees.
The E-Lock system will also support
the ASEAN Customs Transit system to facilitate the movement of cargo across the
borders of ASEAN countries. It can also raise the State’s revenue and combat
illicit trade.
The Yangon Region Transport Planning
Department announces registering as a member for applying and renewing the
logistics transport licence ‘A’ and special ‘A’ licence for over nine-tonne
trucks at Myanmar International Freight Forwarders Association, Myanmar
Container Trucking Association and Myanmar Highway Freight Transport Service.
