THE Myanmar delegation led by Secretary of the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Chief of Myanmar Police Force Lt-Gen Ni Lin Aung attended the closing ceremony of the 5th special task force Eagle 19 training yesterday, at the invitation of Secretary-General Mr Wichai Chaimongkhon of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) of Thailand.
The training was conducted at the Counter-Terrorism Operations Centre of the Royal Thai Police from 2 to 31 July. A total of 49 trainees — 22 from Myanmar and 27 from Thailand — joined the training course. The training is aimed at boosting physical and mental resistance and skills for special tasks.
Moreover, Chief of Myanmar Police Force Lt-Gen Ni Lin Aung met the ONCB secretary-general and discussed matters related to regional drug cases, cooperation in combatting illegal precursor chemicals in the Golden Triangle, systematic destruction of seized drugs and chemicals, capacity-building training courses and enhancement of cooperation between the two countries.
The Myanmar delegation arrived back in Yangon on the same night.
