THE State Administration Council has released announcements for Mocha-hit areas declaring natural disaster-affected regions under Section 11 of the Natural Disaster Management Law and assigned senior military officers to the respective regions to conduct rehabilitation processes.
Lt-Gen Lu Aye of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army), currently in Kyaukpyu Township, together with officials, met departmental staff and their families at the Minpyin staff housing, inspected healthcare services and provided foodstuffs to them. He also oversaw the maintenance of departmental buildings and inlet channels of the water in Thanpanchaung Ward.
Similarly, Lt-Gen Aye Win of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army), who arrived in Buthidaung Township, along with officials, inspected the distribution of relief items to the storm victims from six villagetracts of the township. He then met with the departmental officials at Township General Administration Department and made proper instructions. He also paid homage to Presiding Sayadaw of Aungmingala Monastery and donated CI sheets, rice and cash donated by Disaster Management Department for six storm-affected monasteries.
Moreover, Brig-Gen Kyaw Kyaw Soe, currently in Myebon Township, attended the meeting to distribute the six types of relief supplies that arrived by the Kaladan 5 ship as quickly as possible to the victims held at the Township General Administrative Office.
Meanwhile, Maj-Gen Thaung Htike Shwe, who arrived in MraukU Township, donated IC sheets and foodstuffs at three monasteries in MraukU Township on 8 June.
