Myanmar, Russia hold Science Festival 2023

 


THE Ministry of Science and Technology and ROSATOM of Russian Federation kicked off the Science Festival 2023 at Yangon Technological University yesterday.

First, Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Kyaw made an opening speech, saying that the science festival can improve the knowledge of students from primary to tertiary levels and young experts serving in respective sectors regarding the scientific facts and experience. It can also stimulate them to explore the scientific innovation. In education sector, it can also improve the spirit of youths, and the knowledge about the nuclear energy will spread through media outlets and so it will be very effective move in developing science and nuclear energy sectors of the country.

Then, Deputy Director-General of ROSATOM Mr Nikolay Spassky made a remark.

The Science Festival will last for three days from 28 to 30 June at Yangon Technological University and Nuclear Technology Information Centre. The festival includes quiz games on nuclear technology and science for basic education school students, and the winners will be awarded. Moreover, it will offer demonstration of undergraduate/postgraduate students, excursion to Yangon Technological University, talk shows of engineering students under topics of nuclear energy and related science, question and answer section of Russian experts and sharing of knowledge to media sector.

During the ceremony, Deputy Minister Dr Aung Zeya and Deputy Director-General of ROSATOM co-chaired the first Myanmar-Russia Joint Coordination Committee meeting on peaceful uses of nuclear energy and human resource development for nuclear technology.
