DPM, union ministers look into rehabilitation process in Sittway

 

MEMBER of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San accompanied by Union Ministers Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, U Myo Thant and Dr Thet Thet Khine, Chief Minister of Rakhine State U Htein Lin and officials inspected unloading of relief and rehabilitation materials at Sittway’s multi-purpose port and Technological University (Sittway).

At Sittway multi-purpose port, the Admiral inspected arrival of MV Wirupakkha and MV Royal Venus.

At Technological University (Sittway), the rector and officials reported to the Admiral and party on renovation of lecture halls and future plans.

Then, the Admiral paid homage to the Alodawpyae Sayadaw and donated alms and meals. At the afternoon, they attended the rehabilitation coordination meeting at the Rakhine State Government Office. Officials reported on arrivals of more relief aid, distribution process, progress of rehabilitation tasks and future plans.

Finally, the Admiral stressed the need to manage distribution of foodstuffs to the affected people in areas through a priority plan. It is crucial to ensure that there are no delays in the loading and unloading of relief aid, and timely distribution of supplies.
