THE relief materials and food items contributed by families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and well-wishers and relief supplies provided by the National Disaster Management Committee for local communities affected by the natural disaster in Rakhine State resulting from Cyclone Mocha are being transported by Tatmadaw aircraft, helicopters and vessels.
A total of 1,010 bags of medical supplies, 334 cartons of clean water, 218 cartons of biscuits, and 700 bags of instant noodles, along with other relief aid generously contributed by the families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), were transported for the first time from Nay Pyi Taw Airport to Sittway Airport. And 100 bags of rice, water bottles, canned goods, and food items produced by Tatmadaw factories, along with personal goods and medical supplies, were delivered for the second time. The third shipment included a variety of canned goods produced by Tatmadaw factories, the fourth shipment, 180 bags of rice, canned goods produced by Tatmadaw factories and communication equipment and the fifth shipment, 100 bags of rice and 498 clean water cartons.
Tatmadaw conducted a total of eight airlift operations, transporting relief supplies from Nay Pyi Taw to Sittway five times, from Yangon to Sittway twice, and from Yangon to Cocokyun once yesterday.
Officials in the respective areas received relief supplies and will continue to distribute them to storm victims.
