Tatmadaw (Air) continues to deliver supplies to people in Mocha-hit Rakhine State


 

THE Tatmadaw has sent a group of relief teams to areas affected by Cyclone Mocha and is carrying out the necessary relief work.

Food and relief items donated by Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, and Air) families and voluntary donors as well as items provided by the National Disaster Management Committee, are being transported by the Tatmadaw planes, helicopters and ships.

The Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, and Air) families yesterday transported 695 large packages of biscuits from Nay Pyi Taw Airport to Sittway Airport for the first time.

They also transported 400 bags of necessary items from Nay Pyi Taw Airport to Sittway Airport for the second time, 250 bags of relief items for the third time, 150 sacks of rice, 19 packages of water purifier tablets, and 169 packages of various medicines for the fourth time. Similarly, relief and rescue operations in areas affected by natural disasters were carried out by 418 relief forces including special search and rescue forces under the command of the Myanmar Fire Brigade Headquarters and fire brigades from Bago Region, Yangon Region and Ayeyawady Region.

They transported edible oils, tarpaulin sheets, small and big generators, packages of purified drinking water, sacks of rice, building materials, chain saws, purified drinking water bottles, carpets, medicines, and relief items nine times by Tatmadaw planes from Yangon’s Mingaladon Airport to Sittway Airport.

The Tatmadaw airlifted relief teams and supplies from Nay Pyi Taw to Sittway four times, and from Yangon to Sittway nine times yesterday.

They are working to continue delivering what people need.

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and Yangon Command Commander MajGen Zaw Hein and officials visited and encouraged the rescue teams who were transporting the aid and relief teams from Yangon’s Mingaladon Airport to Sittway Airport, and also provided cash, aid and relief supplies.

Officials have received the items that arrived by the Tatmadaw planes and will continue to distribute them to the relevant departments.
