THE military aircraft, helicopters and navy ships transport the relief items and foodstuffs donated by families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), donors and the National Disaster Management Committee to the victims of Cyclone Mocha in Rakhine State.
On the morning of 16 May, the navy ship Maha Bandoola left No 4 Navy Port Terminal, carrying a pair of satellite phones, 113 packs of noodles, 50 packs of flour noodles, 8,800 sachets of electrolyte drinks, 14,300 eggs, 30 visses of chicken, 10 packs of water bottles, 100 visses of fish paste, 200 visses of fish, 800 visses of dried fish, five bags of rice, vegetables, one generator, 12 airbags (weighing 15 tonnes) donated by the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Navy), 10,000 eggs, 2 landscaping rolls, one carton and two packs of medicine(1ton) by Yangon Region Command, 500 bags of rice, 200 tarpaulin rolls, (32.4 tonnes) by the Ministry of Social Welfare Relief and Resettlement. The ship will arrive in Sittway Township on the evening of 17 May.
Similarly, the naval vessel Mottama also left Bo Aung Kyaw jetty for Sittway at 11am in the same morning carrying 10,000 bags of rice (125 tonnes) donated by the Office of State Administration Council, 8,325 packs of ration containing seven different food by the Directorate of Supply and Transport, 26,737 CI sheets, 91 cartons of roofing nails, 16 cartons of screw, 20 chainsaws (151 tonnes) by No 981 Works Battalion (Engineers), 300 boxes containing different types of relief items, 164 packs of noodle, 200 packs of drinking water, 750 longyi (three tonnes) by the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Navy), 47,890 CI sheets, 87 cartons of roofing nails, 1,656 packs and 94 bags of nails, 20,280 bottles of palm oil (242 tonnes) by MEC, 749 cartons and one bag (20 tonnes) of canned food by Border Police Force, 5,557 bags of rice, 300 tarpaulin rolls (289 tonnes) by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, two MPT mobile vans, one telecom tower, two cable wires (35 tonnes) by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, two water purification trucks (44 tonnes) by the Department of Cooperative and Rural Development, two generator trucks and 20 bottles of diesel (19 tonnes) by the Ministry of Electric Power.
The ship will arrive in Sittway township on the night of 17 May.
Moreover, Tatmadaw (Navy) participated in the transport of relief items for the victims in storm-hit areas.
