MoI Union Minister inspects damage in MRTV Yangon, supplies for Sittway re-transmission station



UNION Information Minister U Maung Maung Ohn inspected the damage to the roof of the MRTV main building in Yangon in the event of Cyclone Mocha, the maintenance status of broadcasting processes and the packaging of broadcasting equipment to be sent to Sittway yesterday.

 

The Union minister viewed round the loss and damage of the MRTV on Pyay Road on 14 May and called for immediate and systematic repair and clear-up as Live Studio A is located underneath the damaged roof. He gave the necessary instructions after further inspection at the MRTV Yangon. 

Next, the Union minister met the staff from the Music Division of the MRTV. He congratulated Myanma Traditional Orchestra and the modern band on their performance at the Myanmar Film Academy Awards Ceremony and presented cash awards to them. 

The Union minister proceeded to the Yegu Broadcasting Station in Mayangon Township, inspected the packing of broadcasting materials including the 300-watt transmission set for the Sittway re-transmission station, which was hit by Cyclone Mocha, and left the necessary instructions. 

The broadcasting materials were reportedly sent to Sittway from Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon yesterday.
