DPM Mo TC Union Minister attends opening ceremony of new SetSan Staff Housing, Thiri Anawa Hall of MPA in Yangon

 

STATE Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San attended the opening ceremony of the new SetSan Staff Housing of Myanma Port Authority and Thiri Anawa Hall in Kuutoseik Ward of  Mingala Taungnyunt Township of Yangon Region yesterday.

On arrival at the opening ceremony of SetSan Staff Housing, the Deputy Prime Minister inspected two new six-storey buildings with eight apartments each, two buildings for single officers/staff, one Multi-Function Assembly Hall and clinic together with the relevant officials after the procedures of the ceremony.

Then, the Deputy Prime Minister pressed the button to launch the signboard of Thiri Anawa Hall and sprinkled scented water over the monument of the new hall together with other officials.

He then talked about the efforts of the government and the ministry for constructing standard staff housing for the welfare of employees. He also urged the staff to follow the rules and ethics of staff and maintain the new housing to be clean in the long run.

The construction of SetSan Staff Housing of Myanma Port Authority was started in the 2013-2014 financial year. The housing includes 12 buildings with 456 apartments, one Multi-Function Assembly Hall and one clinic.

The Deputy Prime Minister and party also inspected the use of eight RBEs transferred by West Corporation and the maintenance of the remaining seven RBEs at the Rail Bus Engine-RBE locomotive factory in the Yangon Railways Station compound. During the tour, he instructed responsible personnel to complete the working processes in a fixed period, clean the carriages, ensure safety and substitute in the proper routes.

At the briefing hall of Yangon Railways Station, the Deputy Prime Minister met with the department heads and highlighted the access to information about the cyclone, predictions on transport and communications services of the department, timely management for airlines, ship and train routes, evacuation of aircraft to safe locations, systematic relocation of vessels to the nearest jetty and shipyard, proper maintenance on locomotive, carriages and wagons and reserve communication system if the connection cut off from all access in the natural disaster.
