SUPERVISED by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Brunei, the second ASEAN Digital Public Health Conference was held with a hybrid method at the Empire Hotel in Brunei yesterday. The Minister of Finance and Economy (2), the Minister of Prime Minister’s Office of Brunei Mr Pehin Dato Abdul Rahman greeted and the Secretary-General of the ASEAN Mr Lim Jock Hoi gave an opening speech.
Deputy Minister for Health Dr Aye Tun joined the discussion on the title Building a Resilient ASEAN together with the ministers and deputy ministers of Health from Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand. They discussed using digital technology, the success of ASEAN countries during the Covid-19 pandemic and the difficulties encountered.
The deputy minister said that Myanmar has added the vaccination of Covid-19 to ASEAN through the VMIS system, and all ASEAN countries have been able to verify the vaccination record of Myanmar and the Covid-19 vaccination information has been brought using digital technology.
The conference was held from 22 to 23 November and the specialists discussed digital public health cases.
