World Bee Day ceremony held in Nay Pyi Taw

 


A ceremony for World Bee Day was held at the Pyinmana Township Office of Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Aung Gyi and the permanent secretary, directors-general and officials of the Myanmar Beekeepers Association, private beekeepers and officials attended the ceremony.

First, Deputy Minister Dr Aung Gyi explained the origins of World Bee Day and the training of beekeepers for the Myanmar beekeeping sector, including modern beekeeping activities in Myanmar and encouraged to protect the bee species that have environmental and ecological benefits.

Afterwards, Director-General Dr Ye Tun Win briefed all on the competition of taking out queen bee larvae to be held and Deputy Directors U Myo Tint and U Maung Tint explained the scoring rules and regulation of the competition, the process and technique for competition.

The deputy minister and officials then awarded skilful workers and beekeepers of the queen bee larvae drawing award at the Central-level, Regional-level and State-level as the first award, the second award and the third award, respectively.
