MYANMAR athletes made a big victory yesterday by earning gold, silver and bronze medals in SEA Games being held in Viet Nam.
Maung Ye Tun Naung
deservedly won the gold medal in the bodybuilding competition (+70) kg held at
Cau Giay Gymnasium.
Maung Min Zaw Oo in
(+80) kg and Mg Khin Maung Kyaw in (+85) kg also each won the silver medal.
Sandy Oo won the silver medal in the women’s
individual wushu competition at the Trinh Hoai Duc Gymnasium.
Nilar Win and Shwe Sin Latt won one bronze
medal in the Women Double Event of the Western Women’s Rowing Contest held in
Hai Phong.
In the women’s 4-rowing
competition, Ma Ei Phyu, Ma Sandar Shwe, Ma Chit Phoo Ngon and Ma Win Thu Zar
Thein each won the bronze medal.
Union Minister for
Sports and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee U Min
Thein Zan, Director-General of the Department of Sports and Physical Education
U Tun Myint Oo, administrators and coaches, Myanmar sports teams and officials
attended the sports event.
As of 14 May, Myanmar
has earned 14 medals in total with three gold medals, four silver medals and
seven bronze medals in the 31st Southeast Asian Games.
